Artist's Description
Tall Poppy Syndrome: Painting #60! This may be one of my biggest Pet Peeves: people cutting you down for individual excellence in order to maintain the societal or cultural status quo. Here in the US, we are constantly admonsihed to 'excel!,' 'be yourself,' 'live your dream' - yet many times when we try to, we are cut down, scolded, shamed, laughed at, punished or embarrassed for sticking out! 'Who do you think you ARE?' How about where you live?
About Angela Treat Lyon
If you adore brilliant color and simple form and delighful Beings who play and laugh a lot, you'll probably enjoy what you find here. I like to think that when you gaze at my images you might start to feel like breathing deeply and feeling like Life is Good; like laughing, or like life isn't so hard - and that maybe it's more sweet than you ever imagined, and that you just want to hug it all around yourself. What else is life for than that? The prints you get from this site are excellent, and match the images you see here almost perfectly. I hope you'll be pleased when you get any of these images on paper, poster, cards or canvas. aloha - Angela
